the Revival

I came for the revival
An indigo child
With eyes to see the mishaps
Of an outdated past

Leading to a pinnacle
This moment.

From here all directions lie open
Beyond the visible spectrum of this or that

Our soul sits
Waiting for catalysts
Of reminding

I came for the revival

An alchemical witch mixing
The most proper cocktail of inebriation
To lull us into believing
If only for one moment

Do you remember
Our freedom to create

I came for the revival
A dreamer of everything
Intrinsically unwilling to relinquish my right to dream

To throw down seemingly unconnected puzzles pieces
The ones that sit in empty space
Begging you to ask
How the fuck it'll all make sense...
don't give up.

Of course you avoid wondering
Why you avoid wondering
How you ended up at the mercy of a game
Without the directions
And with oddly shaped pieces
That don't seem to fit...
don't give up.

There are only so many corner pieces

Only so many lies to hide behind
Certainty to ride
Don't forget all that's inside
Outside

Besides...
I came for the revival
A bearer of our ties
To all the opportunities
Hiding in pockets of periphery

The population is too great now
To walk with our eyes closed
The secrets our parents and teachers shoved into utility closets
In honor of efficiency and righteousness

I came for the revival
The rebirth of wrong-doing
For the sake of boundary learning
In the name of peace making
I am our mishaps
I am our change.

A brave stand in the face of despair
When your legs turn limp
Pick up the phone
Call in reinforcements

Still there is no one to rescue you
But your own will to continue to witness what comes next

Will you show up for the revival?
